Board Shorts

Board shorts are ideal for surfing in warm water during the summer months. They are bigger than other styles of shorts, some styles look more like pants that weren’t quite long enough than shorts that are extra long. The style has been popular not only on the beach but elsewhere in warm weather.

The difference between regular shorts and board shorts can be subtle at times. One big difference is that you won’t find board shorts in denim. Another is that board shorts are typically designed to be water breathable and dry out quickly. This is the rationale behind not producing them in denim, since denim is one of the slowest drying materials we wear.

There is no set rule for styling board shorts. Some are plain, and others are highly patterned. Cargo shorts are a popular style that is easy to wear both on the beach and around town.  Pacific islander designs are also extremely popular.
